Prayer

Prayer Time, Thursdays 6:30 pm. Please call for additional information

Devotional time for Christians is an exercise that includes prayer, reading, and meditation on the Word of God. We must have this time regularly.

Prayer is our primary form of communication with God, so it is an integral part of every Christian’s life. Below, we’ll show you 7 key steps to improve your prayer time:

1 Always pray

You should always pray, not just before eating or before sleeping. You must talk to God throughout the day.

2 Pray for others

This is important: prayer time is not just for you, pray for others. Whether it’s the members, leaders or pastors of your church, your friends, family, work or college.

3 Ask God to open your heart

It is through the Holy Spirit that God moves in us. Ask God to move in you and guide your life. As God guides you, he will show you reasons to present in prayer. Sometimes, it will introduce you to people or put in your mind places you should pray for.

4 Don’t talk all the time

Prayer is not a one-way street. It’s a conversation! Let God move in you. Chances are you won’t hear a real voice, but God can plant some ideas in you.

5 Do you make a list?

Don’t spend all your time asking God for things, as if you were reading a shopping list. Again, prayer is a conversation. What would you think if someone only talked to you when they needed things and then left? It’s depressing, isn’t it?

6 Praise God

You can begin by thanking God, as Jesus teaches us in the model prayer ” Our Father” (Luke 11). Sanctify God’s Name, then ask forgiveness if you have in any way offended God. Then make your requests but take the time to thank God for all blessings big, small, good and not so good. Give God glory and honor; and when you notice a blessing in your life, be sure to say, thank you.

7 Ask in the name of God’s Son, Jesus

At the end of your prayer, say: In the Name of Jesus. Remember that whatever you ask God in Jesus’ name, God  will give, according to God’s will.

We hope this list has given you some ideas on how to improve your time in prayer with God. Go for it!
